Innocent SAFARI outgoing Permanent Secretary handed over office to Rosemary MBABAZI.
Kigali February 7, 2017: Innocent SAFARI this Tuesday handed over office to Rosemary MBABAZI incoming Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Trade, Industry and East African Community Affairs (MINEACOM).
This handover is in accordance with February 3, 2017 Cabinet appointments of Senior Government Officials. The handover event was presided over by the Minister of Trade, Industry and East African Community Affairs Hon. François Kanimba.
The former Permanent Secretary Innocent SAFARI was appointed the National Coordinator of Northern Corridor Integration Projects, while the incoming Permanent Secretary has been serving as PS in the Ministry of Youth and ICT for the last 5 years.
Speaking at the event, Innocent SAFARI expressed his sincere appreciation to His Excellency the President of the Republic of Rwanda for the trust in him. He also thanked Honorable Minister and the entire staff of MINEACOM for the support and team spirit while in his tenure, that helped him deliver on the Ministry mandate.
Mr. Safari noted that MINEACOM is a backbone of Rwanda’s economy and he highlighted key on gong projects for the Ministry that need attention and close follow up. The projects include Made in Rwanda, National Employment Programme, Kigali Special Economic Zone and Industrial parks established across the country; Trade and Logistics; Regional integration projects and programs …
The incoming Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Mbabazi Rosemary also expressed her gratitude to serve her country through the Ministry of Trade, Industry and East African Affairs. I can’t deliver without full support of MINEACOM dedicated staff” She said.
Hon. Minister of MINEACOM, Francois Kanimba witnessed the handover event , he welcomed the incoming PS and pledged his full support. He further noted that the Ministry will still work closely with the National Coordinator of Northern Corridor Initiatives.
